OmniCast for SMS dramatically enhances the efficiency of SMS across large, highly-distributed multi-server Wide Area Networks, allowing an administrator to propagate a file or update all SMS servers simultaneously with a single data transfer. OmniCast for SMS easily scales from one core to 20,000 concurrent edge servers.
This one-to-many, scalable delivery system provides fast, bandwidth-efficient distribution of updates on a regional, national or global scale. The OmniCast for SMS-patented MFTP technology delivers a 40 to 60 percent improvement in throughput per transmission over traditional transfer protocols in one-to-one transfers via unique data compression, Forward Error Correction (FEC), Erasure Correction (EC) and Negative Acknowledgement (NACK) technologies embedded within the product. In one-to-many transfers, in addition to the 40 to 60 percent efficiency improvement over standard protocols, OmniCast for SMS (in multicast mode) delivers an update to as many as 20,000 concurrent edge servers with a single multicast datastream providing immense bandwidth savings in the process.
How It Works
As a software module, OmniCast for SMS is easily installed on Window© servers typically taking less than 10 minutes per device for full configuration. Additionally, powerful scheduling and versatile job configuration options allow administrators to automate delivery functions and transparently retry offline or non-responsive sites to ensure ubiquitous distribution across the enterprise.
OmniCast for SMS works in terrestrial, wireless or satellite networks and can deliver content in unicast, multicast or broadcast modes with or without return channel bandwidth.
